This is the introduction the undergraduates get for CS 300:

This course assumes no prior knowledge of Computer Science. By the end, you will have a basic understanding of CS teaching and learning, and feel confident in exploring CS content and accessing future professional development.

Your grade will not depend on your skill with computers, math, or art. You will be assessed on your reflective responses to the material and activities. Debate is encouraged!

For each of the programming assignments, spend an hour of two making as much progress as you can. If after that time is over, you have not completed the programming task, that is ok-- just move on to the documentation and reflection. However, if you really enjoy doing the activity, you are welcome to spend as much time on it as you like! This course is not about what you make-- it's about how you think.

All of the programming projects and learning logs will be submitted as pages in your CS 300 Journal. Please make a copy now and share it with your instructor. You will be asked for the same document link each week as your assignment submission.

But you are here for CS 333!

You are welcome to attend either of the two class meetings each week, no RSVP necessary. One class each week will be recorded and made available for catch-up. The assignment due dates are all set to Mondays, but consider them due before whichever class meeting you attend. No points will be deducted for late assignments or resubmissions. Don't let underpreparedness keep you from coming to class!

In addition to the undergraduate components (content and practice) there is a graduate component (theory.) This is manifested in one academic reading each week that underpins the research or framework or evidence behind WHY we are teaching the content or practice in a certain way.

Completion of this 8-week course should mostly prepare you to teach the 13-week CS 300 course in the Summer. And we hope you will!
